In this article, I am going to tell you, how you can repair your faulty earphones your own, rather than throw them like a waste or junk.
Most of the earphones/headphones get faulty by their speakers or connecting jacks and I'll show you how you can repair the main faults that every earphone or headphone causes to make the dump.
So let's begin
Tools Required for Repairing the Ear Phones :
1. Soldering Iron & Wire :

3. Heat Shrink Sleeve :

4. Glue Gun :

Repairing Process of Ear Phone
1. Faulty Speakers of EarPhone
2. Faulty Connecting Jack of EarPhone
3. Faulty Controller of EarPhone
1. Faulty Speakers of EarPhone :
Steps for Repairing :
- The size of the speakers in earphones is very compact.
- We can replace them with another same sized speaker.
- In the earphone, two connection wires are there signal & ground.
- We just have to solder them properly.
- Then fix them.
- Then we just need to test it.

2. Faulty Connecting Jack of Ear Phone :
- Most of the time we saw that one earphone speaker is not working.
- Sometimes the microphone is not working.
- Due to loose connections or due to breakage of inside's joints
Steps for Repairing :
Step - 1: Break the Connector from the Wire :
- In any wired earphone, first of all, we need to cut the connector joint by their endpoint i.e. near the connector.
- Then it seems like shown below :
- Then you will get the core connector.
- Then remove the solid layer plastic from the connector.
- The connector could be of 3 or 4 channels.
- Then the connecting jack will seem like as shown below :
- Now we have to solder the wires of the jack.
- The jack can be of 3 or 4.
- The connections are from top to bottom of the connector, so 1 & 2 are channel/ speaker's wire, 3rd is your ground wire and 4 is microphone's wire.
- Now do the Tinning of wire for connection.
- The color of wire is red & blue are for the channel, brown/ copper is for ground and red is for the microphone.
- Sometimes the connections of wire will be different from their respective companies, so keep the connection in your mind before disconnecting/ removing the wire to the jack.
- Then it looks like as given below :
Step - 4: Casing of Connector By Glue Gun :
- For the casing, we need the heat shrink sleeve and a glue gun.
- Now, first of all, piece of heat shrink sleeve approx 2 to 3 cm place on the connecting wire
- Paste the glue on the connector by glue gun.
- Do this work properly because this is the finishing process.
- Then it seems like as shown below or better than shown below :
Step - 5: Placing of Heat Shrink Sleeve :
- Keep this in your mind, the heat shrink sleeve placed in the wire before using the glue gun.
- Then melt the glue again and then set the heat shrink sleeve at the end of the connector.
- Then remove the waste glue that is coming out the sleeve.
3. Faulty Controller of Ear Phone :
Steps for Repairing :
- In the controller, a very mini-circuit is there.
- In the controller, we can only solder the wires of the connector and microphone.
- There are very fewer chances to repair other faults.
