What Are the Steps to Electric Iron Repair/ Troubleshoot?

This article is all about how to repair/ troubleshoot the electric iron machine that we all use in our household to iron our clothes. This is a common device that we use and I saw so many people who go to the mechanic to get it to fix,  so we can troubleshoot the iron by own-self.

What Are the Steps to Electric Iron Repair/ Troubleshoot?

So Let's Start

Tools Required :

1. Plier :

2. Tester :

3. Screw Driver :

4.Multi-Meter :

5. Stripper & Isolation Tape :

Test the Main Lead Wire :

1. Set the multi-meter at continuity mode.

2. Test the main wire whether the wire is dis-joint or not by the multi-meter.

Test the Heating Element of Iron :

1. First, remove the main wire to the iron and remember the connections before dis-connect the wire.

2. Total terminals are 3 ( 2 terminals are for element and 1 for thermostat/ controller). 

3. Then open the iron or remove the upper casing. 

4. Test the element by providing 220 V AC or check the continuity of the element.

5. If the element is not faulty then good, if it is faulty then you have to change it only.

Test the Thermostat/ Heat Controller :

1. By rotating the thermostat knob you will see 2 plates of the controller get touched or untouched to each other.

2. If the controller is working as mentioned, so it correct, if it is not correct so try to solve it by your own skills to get touch controller plates otherwise you have o change the thermostat.

Complete Iron Machine :
