What is Poka-yoke?

Poka-yoke is a technique for avoiding simple human error at work.

In Hindi, Poka-Yoke means "Galti se bhi Galti na hona"



Who invented/developed?

Developed by Dr. Shigeo Shingo, formerly called ‘fool proofing’, to achieve zero defects and eventually eliminate quality control inspection.

Translated as ‘mistake-proofing ‘ or ‘ fail - saving’ from the Japanese words

Types:

Generally, Poka-Yoke is of 2 types -

1. Detection type
2. Prevention type
